Why This Reference Exists
Nebraska makes many public records available, but a name search does not always reveal which office created a record or what it means. The Hamilton County Sheriff has custody of the jail and prisoners, the court record shows what happened after a booking, and separate state and federal systems cover people who have moved out of county custody. This reference puts those distinct record paths in plain language. It does not operate a live roster, a booking feed, or a photo database.
What the Site Covers
Its purpose is to explain the difference between a booking entry, a court case, and a sentenced-custody search, while directing readers to the appropriate official source.
- The Hamilton County records reference explains official booking, roster, and public-record request paths.
- Most Wanted describes how to check and resolve warrant information through official channels.
- Crime News & Mugshots separates news coverage and third-party listings from authoritative records.
- City pages for Aurora, Hampton, and Giltner explain their local record routes.
Limits of Our Role
This is not a government service and has no affiliation with a Nebraska sheriff, jail, corrections department, court, or other public agency. We cannot release a person, confirm custody or release status, retrieve official records, or offer legal advice. An arrest or booking is an accusation, and a court disposition, not a copied listing, determines the result.
- We cannot post bond, arrange visits, or transfer money.
- We cannot certify a charge, court status, address, fee, or office schedule.
- We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Site information must not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose.
Only the office that created a record can provide an official answer about a booking, charge, release, or case status.
Search Partner Disclosure
Some search boxes lead to tools run by independent providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, results, and privacy practices. If a visitor chooses a paid service after using a partner link, Hamilton County Busted Mugshots may receive a referral fee that helps support this free reference. A referral relationship does not make a partner result official or guarantee that it is complete.
